FIRE RAZED 11 SHOPS AT BUK!!!
-It is no more news that the popular Bayero University, Kano, (BUK) new campus market suffered an inferno, last Tuesday, 17th January, 2017. The most surprising thing is that the incidence which occurred around 12am has not gotten attention of any one who can come to the aid of the shop owners.
-The incidence which claimed 11 shops aroused the attention of a student journalist in the campus, Comrade Usman Haruna also referred to as DE_COMMUNICATOR, adding that he felt the need to filled the report and share more of the incidence photos.
-Speaking to DE_COMMUNICATOR, kola aremu, a shop owner (not among the affected shops), said that the inferno might have been caused by high current of electric supply at about 12am Tuesday, adding that he live very near to the school campus and believe that might have been the cause of the fire incident.
-When surveyed, there were 10 shops burnt beyond control that even a pin can’t be recovered with a shop partially affected. Part of the items that got destroyed were generator sets, computers and computer components, refrigerators, clothes, yams, oil, provisions and other properties worth millions.
-Recounting his ordeal was a provision shop owner, simply identified as bala, whose shop was totally burnt said that his marriage is scheduled for the week but the unfortunate incidence won’t stop the ceremony.
-Another shop owner, who doesn’t want his name in the press said that the situation was bad because the shops are too closed to each other and that is why all the shops in the role has been affected, stressing that he is yet to see any authority or philanthropist who has come their aids.
-The market, coke village is strategically located at extreme end of the BUK new campus commercial area.
