Holds Staggered 5-Day Convocation 19 – 23 May
Bayero
University, Kano is set to innovate a staggered five day convocation to enable
students and their families interact with lecturers, with three or four
faculties graduating students daily, over a few hours.
Therefore,
the 31st Convocation
Ceremonies for the graduands of 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 academic sessions will
hold from Monday, 18th to
Saturday, 23rd May, 2015.
It
would be recalled that the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, mni, MFR had during
the 30th Convocation
ceremony in 2013 said the University would split the ceremony to enable the
actual celebrants (the graduands), their families and teachers to truly
celebrate in a relaxed atmosphere.
In a
statement issued and signed by the Director, Examinations, Admissions and
Records (DEAR), Hajiya Fatima Binta Mohammed, the activities are scheduled as

All
the activities will take place at the Convocation Arena, Bayero University, New
Campus by 9:00am daily except for the Convocation Lecture, which is scheduled
to take place in Musa Abdullahi Auditorium by 4:00pm.
The
statement further added that: “Graduands are expected to pay the sum of two
thousand Naira only N2,000 for Undergraduates and three thousand Naira only
N3,000 for Postgraduates for the collection of Academic Gown, Order of
Proceedings and Certificate.
“Failure
to collect the certificate during the week of convocation will attract a
surcharge of N2,000 for Undergraduates and N3,000 for Postgraduates,
respectively.
“Academic
Gowns can be collected from the Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records
(DEAR) upon evidence of payment from Thursday, 14th May, 2015.”
