BUK Emerges 3rd at National Maths Competition

Bayero University has emerged third at the just concluded 7th National Mathematics Competition for University Students (NAMCUS) under the National category. According to Dr. Surajo M. Umar, who signed a letter on behalf of the Head of Mathematical Sciences Department, 25 Nigerian Universities participated in the competition that was organized by the National Mathematical centre,
Abuja. The BUK team had Dr. Ma’aruf S. Minjibir as leader at the delegation and four students as representatives as follows:...

1. SCI/11/MTH/00886 – Rahamat Abdullahi Sani.
2. SCI/11/MTH/0842 – Aisha Adam Aminu
3. SCI/10/MTH/00748 – Muhammadu Salisu
4. SCI/10/MTH/00768 – Ukashatu Abdullahi Sani
Under individual category, Rahamat Abdullahi Sani emerged 3rd in the nation out of one hundred participants, thereby bagging a gold medal. Muhammadu Salisu emerged 16th and got a silver medal, while Aisha Adam Aminu and Ukashatu Abdullahi Sani got a bronze medal each and emerged 26th and 31st respectively.
